The manga centers on a boy who awakens to the powers of a dragon, who uses his strength to protect his family.

Miura launched a manga adaptation of Masayuki Abe's Tsuyokute New Saga (New Saga Plus, a wordplay on the Japanese term for replay mode) light novel series in AlphaPolis in February 2014. The manga ended in July 2023. AlphaPolis published the manga's 11th and final compiled book volume in June 2025. AlphaPolis' Alpha Manga service is publishing the manga in English under the title New Saga.

The original novels inspired a television anime that debuted in July 2025. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan.
